Suspending Account or Device Access

The Suspend option is a key ZixOne feature that gives administrators the ability to quickly suspend account and device access.

An administrator can suspend access to ZixOne for:

A device owner's account, including all devices registered under the account
A registered device

For example, if a device is misplaced or stolen, the administrator can open the Administration Console and suspend device access to the organization's ZixOne server. A ZixOne passcode further protects organization data until the administrator is able to suspend access.

If the device is found, the administrator can allow ZixOne access without requiring device re-registration.

The ZixOne administrator also can suspend or allow a device owner's entire account access, which suspends all registered devices for the owner. For example, the owner may have lost multiple devices, may have become a potential security risk or may have been terminated. The administrator can allow the device owner's account access without having to re-enter account details.

To suspend a device owner's account access or device access:

1. On the main menu, select People.

The People screen displays.

2. Select a device owner's account.

The account detail view displays, including a column listing all devices registered under the selected account.

3. Select the Suspend button.
a. Optionally, in Manage Access, select Suspended.
b. Optionally, in Device Access, select Suspended for one or more devices.
4. Select the Suspend button in the confirmation dialogue.

The People screen displays suspended device labels in red in the Device column and displays Suspended in the Access column.
